Summary
Molocon 2024 is an annual technology and innovation event centered around machine learning and creative AI applications. The event brings together experts, creators, and industry leaders to explore how intelligent systems shape the future of design, communication, and user experience. The creative direction was driven by the concept of “intelligent motion,” blending the logic of machine learning with expressive visual storytelling to reflect the fusion of technology and human creativity.
I contributed to shaping the event’s visual identity and branding language, from digital and graphic design to environmental applications. This included creating subway visuals, a large-scale 3D billboard in the heart of Korea, and dynamic motion graphics that extended across the event’s digital platforms. The result was a cohesive design system that captured the energy of innovation while communicating the sophistication and forward thinking spirit of Molocon 2024.
Agency: Carpe Diem Creative

Objective
The goal was to create a visual that embodies Moloco’s ML technology and its ability to filter complex data and deliver it to the right audiences. I began by studying how the system processes information and visualizing the connection between data, the ML engine, and end users.
From this exploration, I developed the concept of “Intelligent Motion”, a dynamic fiber structure where the top represents complex data, the center symbolizes Moloco’s ML system, and the bottom shows refined outputs reaching the right audiences, capturing how the technology transforms complexity into clarity.

Extending the Identity
Expand the concept into a comprehensive visual identity system that could flex across all touchpoints of Molocon 2024. Beyond serving as a single key visual, it was designed to define the overall visual language, influencing motion behavior, color gradients, and layout composition. The intention was to create a system that not only represented the intelligence and precision of Moloco’s ML technology but also maintained visual consistency and energy across digital platforms, environmental graphics, and event presentations.

The logo lockup combines Montserrat for “MOLO” and Monoton for “CON,” balancing solid structure with rhythmic motion. This pairing reflects both the stability and dynamic energy of Molocon 2024’s innovative identity.

The color palette builds on Moloco’s signature blue, complemented by a vibrant purple inspired by the digital fiber. Together, they symbolize the balance between technology, creativity, and intelligent motion.

The typography follows Moloco’s new branding, using Montserrat for its clean, modern form and versatility, reflecting the brand’s balance of technological precision and human-centered design.
Logo Animation
The Molocon 2024 logo animation visualizes intelligent connection and transformation. Fragments align to form the logo, while animated lines energize the “CON” section, symbolizing data flow and precision. The purple-to-blue gradient adds depth and motion, reflecting Moloco’s innovative and dynamic identity.

Experiential Brand Expression
The visual identity extended beyond digital screens into physical spaces, creating a cohesive and immersive event experience. The system was applied across the stage design, event venue, and outdoor advertising, ensuring a consistent visual language throughout. The gradient blue and purple tones illuminated the stage backdrop and on-site displays, while the dynamic motion graphics added energy to keynote presentations.

3D Billboard
Immersive Data in Motion
he key visual evolved into an immersive 3D billboard experience in Seoul, transforming Moloco’s digital fiber into a large-scale motion installation. The animation used naked-eye 3D techniques to project data particles floating in space, connecting and converging into the signature fiber structure that extended toward viewers—symbolizing Moloco’s technology filtering and delivering data intelligently.

The process began with reimagining the key visual in a spatial context, thinking beyond flat screens to how the motion would behave in a real environment. Understanding the dynamic of the naked-eye 3D billboard was crucial, studying its curved surface, viewing angle, and depth illusion to design motion that would truly “pop out” into the audience’s space. From there, I developed storyboards to plan each movement, mapping how the floating data dots would flow, connect, and form the fiber structure within a three-dimensional space that felt immersive and believable.
Once the concept was defined, the animation was built in Cinema 4D, where the fiber and data particles were modeled and animated with precise lighting and depth to enhance the illusion. After the first render, the sequence was applied onto a mockup model of the billboard to test perspective and motion. Additional renders were then composited in After Effects to refine timing, color, and glow effects. The final animation was projected back onto the angled billboard model in C4D for the last render pass, achieving a convincing, dynamic illusion of depth that brought the naked-eye 3D experience to life.

After the 3D billboard’s success, the client wanted to extend the fiber concept into a one minute promo video for the event. The concept uses the fiber as a narrative thread to cut through the noise of AI conversations, introduce Moloco, and highlight its role in turning machine learning into real, impactful solutions through dynamic visuals, messaging, and data-driven motion.
